Art Direction for Pain
I have art directed on many pain products including the launches of Vioxx, Excedrin Migraine and Ultracet as well as the ongoing accounts for Celebrex and Ultram.
The main challenge for Ultracet, which was for mild to moderately severe pain, was to convince physicians and their patients that they would still function in their day-to-day lives while taking the product. My solution was to show various patients in their activities of work and play. We had a lot of fun with direct mail and sales pieces which were cut in half to show the people in various outfits and functions in their lives. The board game was part of a sales rep training and taught them about various "states" of pain.

The second ad was for the launch of Ultram SR, the next generation of
Ultram after Ultracet. It was an extended form of the product which evoked the imagery of the "long-legged" man.

Art Direction for Sweeteners
One of the largest sweetener manufacturers expanded their line. While they were well known for their original product, customers and consumers were not aware that they offered a full line. Their key challenge was that 3 of the products are artificial, one of the sweeteners is "all natural". They wanted to present the line as a cohesive offering to restaurants.
I designed a series of concepts for the sweeteners that were colorful and memorable. I tried to play on the beauty of the new colors in the line as well as to indicate that they now had a full range for discerning consumers.

Branding for Epilepsy
This logo was part of a large exploration for the newest product in this blockbuster line of epilepsy products. The client is the largest manufacturer of epilepsy products. I coined the term "KXR" which came out my design process. This helped to differentiate the product from the original brand. The color portion of this branding project was fascinating. While we retained the red from the original product, I chose purple as a way to distinguish the new brand. I presented these designs on behalf of the agency to the client.

E-news for Queens Chamber
The Queens Chamber of Commerce sends an email newsletter to over 5,000 members weekly. They also send community news announcements. Prior to the design of this newsletter, the emails contained various flyers for different events. I worked with the Chamber to streamline the newsletter format so that events were easily advertised, and several employees can update the announcements while maintaining consistent branding. The newsletter design has been so successful the Chamber asked me to create additional banners shown at the bottom which target specific groups in the organization. While each unique, they complement each other as a branded series.
